I listen to you here in San Esteban (Central Chile); I have normal sight and I DO LOVE your radio station. I was reading thorugh the list of Mythbusters in your web site, and I remembered a classmate (he studied French, I studied English) at the U, he was blind, but quite a normal and capable person.

For example, he could tell you whether a person was fat or thin; we always made jokes on him for that fact, but he told us that he knew by just touching the arms of a girl!

In the case of transportation, he only needed someone to tell him the number of the bus, nothing else. Once in the bus, he was able to count the blocks (or streets) and turns (a normal person never does that!!!!) and he was rather accurate in knowing when was the time he should step out of the bus.

Have a very nice day,

I wish we had a radio like yours here, but at least there we can listen to you online,

Best Regards,

Angel.

Found Mikey\'s show by accident when searching for another station last night and loved it. Some of the chat had me in stitches and the \"you cant get blacked up anymore so why are you allowed to get disabled up?\" line was genius! Biggrin

Hello Everyone at Insight Radio.
I would like to thank you for the programs that you do, and for the Stevie Wonder cd, that was a lovely surprise to actually win something, I must say it was the first time that I entered a competition on Insight Radio.
Stevie Wonder is 10 months older than I am, and we have the same Eye condition.
Many thanks onece again.
Take care.

Hi Insight, Thanks for doing the interview about the Buchanan street bollards (Glasgow). SPT claim they were tested by visually impaired people. Do you agree with their assessment? How easy to spot are they? Let me know. Let them know.

Hello

I am Richard Howarth’s support worker in Mainstream School and listened with great interest to his interview at 9.25 am this morning. I was just wondering if you knew that Richard is only 16, doing his GCSE’s this summer, with a view to going to RNC in September. I was so proud of the way he talked about his website this morning – he has put it together entirely by himself from its conception to the way it runs today. Richard is entirely blind and is an inspiration to all his peers here at Stockport Grammar School.

I have worked with him on a full time basis for nine years in both Junior and Senior schools.

Thanks for giving him the opportunity to talk about his website – he sounded absolutely wonderful!

Dear listeners. I am a fan of Insight Radio as I am Visually Impaired myself and have done a few interviews for Insight before. I work for Deafblind Scotland with members who are dual sensory impaired. We have members who listen to insight radio and find it very useful and entertaining. We have trainers who go into organisations and projects who go into schools to give awareness on deafness, blindness and deafblindness. We have various events to raise funds and if anyone is interested in a titon crane absail or a 10k run please look at our website or phone 0141 777 6111.

In addition I am part of the Saltire Striekrs Ten Pin Bowling CLub for Visually Impaired and blind persons. We meet every Wednesday at the Glasgow Quay. We are looking for new members and sighted helpers.

If listeners are interested in the above information or you wish to have a phone chat give me a call on 07923081298 or email me above.
