Talking Books Exclusive!

Denise Mina is a Scottish crime writer, described as an author of 'Tartan Noir'.

In 2005, for 'Aye Write!', Glasgow's Book Festival, she wrote the short story, Ida Tamson. It was presented as a five part serial in The Evening Times and an audio version was recorded for distribution by RNIB Scotland. The story has since become a successful play and according to some a film is on its way.

The original recording has never been offered for sale and so wasn't added to the Talking Books library, so unless you recieved a copy at the time, this is the ONLY place you can hear this exclusive short story by one of Scotland's most thrilling writers.

About Talking Books

Talking Books is a service from RNIB, helping blind and partially sighted people gain access to books. It's also a show on Insight Radio that's on, in one form or another, every day.

Robert Kirkwood, who for many years worked in the RNIB Talking Books studios in Camden, presents the featured book of the moment and brings you interviews with audio book narrators and producers, authors and audio book publishers, along with info from the whole world of audio books. We try and find you as many free (and legal!) audio book downloads as we can or if not free, we're always on the lookout for a bargain.

The show also acts as a guide to the RNIB Talking Book service, so members can hear what new books are in the library, non-members can find out how to join, and everyone can enjoy the featured book.
