Imagine a life without vision - that's what the UK's leading sight loss charity is asking people as part of a new campaign. Update: New 'What Would You Lose?' Audio For several weeks RNIB have been travelling the length and breadth of the country and this week they've set up shop in Braehead in West Central Scotland. Insight's Michael Hughes went along. Mikey in Braehead Scotland's First Minister gets Insight into Sight Loss. 'What Would You Lose?' That's the question being asked as part of a major RNIB campaign to get sighted people thinking about visual impairment. Departments within the charity are approaching the campaign in different ways, Now it's the young people's chance to get the message across as Insight's Leeanne Coyle reports.

Irene McGarry is a regular voice on Insight Radio's Daily Lunch show, where she talks about her role in complimentary therapy. However, prior to her current career, Irene used to be a nurse and as her sight began to fail, she quickly realised the job was too much to bear. Irene McGarry Interview RNIB Scotland launch their country-wide 'What Would You Lose' Campaign The charity have launched their own advert which eatures iconic images from the past 40 years - they also include Princess Diana's wedding and Barack Obama's inauguration - reflected on an eyeball. A voice-over will invite passers-by to try and imagine not having been able to see any of these famous sights. The report reveals the realities of losing sight and the frustration and the isolation that often follows. People speak about the shock of losing their sight, the ignorance that surrounds sight loss and the failure of health and social care services to give people the personal support they need at this critical time. It presents research on the inadequacy of support to help people get on with their lives. As part of RNIB's 'What Would You Lose' campaign, Insight Radio's Leeanne Coyle spoke to a woman who lost her sight to Retinitis Pigmentosa 10 years ago. Since then she has learned to live with her visual impairment but not without hard work and unwavering determination.
