Denise Mina is a Scottish crime writer. She has penned three novels in the Garnethill trilogy and another three featuring her character Patricia "Paddy" Meehan, a Glasgow journalist. She has been described as an author of Tartan Noir, and has also dabbled in comic book writing, having recently written 13 issues of Hellblazer. In 2005, for 'Aye Write!', Glasgow's Book Festival, she wrote the short story, Ida Tamson. It was presented as a five part serial in The Evening Times and an audio version was commissioned by Aye Write, recorded by RNIB Scotland and sent to blind and partially sighted readers. It was also broadcast by a budding radio station called VIPonair (that, of course, later became Insight Radio). Ida Tamson has since become a play and according to a few websites, Denise is working on a film adaptation, but Talking Books is proud to offer you an internet exclusive of the original recording from RNIB, produced and narrated by a fairly familiar voice to Talking Books listeners!
