Downton Abbey Experiences Real Life Sight Loss Drama

Downtown Abbey fans will be aware of a recent storyline where one of the show’s characters was sent off to an eye specialist by her employers, Lord and Lady Grantham.

Well, it seems life can sometimes imitate art as the head chef at Highclere Castle – the real name of the programme’s location – found out.

Paul Brooke-Taylor found he was going blind after being hit by a football in 2010.

His bosses Lord and Lady Carnarvon supported him in trying to find out why his vision was failing… just as in the TV drama.
